The second and third place schools will each win $1,500 and $1,000 respectively for the same purpose. In addition, the winning school will also take home the Ed Colt Travelling Trophy for the year. The first, second and third place schools also receive Run for Education banners to permanently display in their schools commemorating their victories.

A minimum of 20 students must participate in the run for their school to be eligible for a special school award.

Non Public Schools located in Washoe County:
For the top three (3) non public schools located in Washoe County who have the highest number of participants, there will also be grants of $2,000 (first highest participation), $1,500 (second highest participation), and a $1,000 (third highest participation) for the top schools. A minimum of 20 students must participate in the run for their school to be eligible for a special school award.

JROTC Divisions:
Finally, we’d like to encourage WCSD JROTC divisions to participate in the 2010 Run for Education and are pleased to offer a $500 donation to be used for their physical training needs to that JROTC unit with the most participants.

This is a great opportunity for your school to earn extra money! So come on out, show your school spirit and you’ll help your school earn extra money. We hope to see you and your school there!
